MadeByCat was founded in 2007 in Istanbul with a simple belief: great digital experiences are born at the intersection of three disciplines — Communication, Art and Technology. The acronym C-A-T encodes that philosophy, and the work has carried it forward for nearly two decades.

Our story

What started as a small studio in Istanbul has grown into a practice headquartered in İstanbul. Across 19 years we have remained independent, founder-led and obsessed with craft. We have delivered 950+ projects for 100+ organisations, partnering with some of Turkey's and the region's most demanding enterprises.

How we think

We treat digital products as long-term platforms, not one-off deliverables. Every engagement starts with research and ends with measurement. We design and engineer in the open with our clients, build accessible by default to WCAG 2.2 AA, and ship code that is reviewed, tested and instrumented. The studio philosophy is to combine the rigor of an engineering firm with the creative ambition of a design house.

Awards & recognition

MadeByCat is one of the most awarded digital studios in Turkey and the EMEA region. We hold 89 Altın Örümcek (Golden Spider) awards — the second most awarded agency in Altın Örümcek history — and 130+ international honours including Webby, Red Dot, iF Design, Awwwards, CSS Design Awards, Communicator, W3 Awards and Horizon Interactive Awards.

Three offices, one team

Our headquarters in Istanbul (Ataşehir, Nidakule Batı) anchors strategy and engineering. Cambridge connects us to UK and European clients, Dubai to the Middle East. We work as a single distributed team across timezones, with English and Turkish as our day-to-day languages.
