Short answer

Yes. The official Altın Örümcek records name MadeByCat as the agency for the Salon İKSV website (saloniksv.com). At the 21st Altın Örümcek Awards in 2023 the same site won Best Website of the Year and first place in Events & Culture/Arts, Microsite and Social Responsibility — and separately placed 3rd in Most Accessible Website, a category whose jury was selected by Engelsiz Erişim Derneği, an accessibility association. Both results are recorded by independent third parties for the same website in the same year.

Client context

01

Salon İKSV is the live music venue of İstanbul Kültür Sanat Vakfı (İKSV). Its website, saloniksv.com, is a separate project from İKSV’s main institutional site, iksv.org.

Business challenge

02

A cultural venue website has to carry a changing programme with a strong artistic identity while remaining usable for every visitor — including people who rely on assistive technology to read information and use online services.

MadeByCat role

03

MadeByCat is named as the agency for Salon İKSV in the official Altın Örümcek 2023 records. MadeByCat’s own project record lists experience design and accessibility as part of its work across İKSV properties, including Salon İKSV.

Context and brief

04

Salon İKSV is İKSV’s live music venue and has its own website, saloniksv.com, separate from İKSV’s main institutional site, iksv.org.

Accessibility and creative recognition on one site

05

The same website that won Best Website of the Year in 2023 also placed 3rd in Most Accessible Website. This case does not describe the internal accessibility process or testing; MadeByCat’s own project record lists accessibility as part of its İKSV work.

What the award entry records

06

The Altın Örümcek records list the entry as a desktop website with MadeByCat as the agency. Events & Culture/Arts and Microsite are the jury’s award categories; this case adds no claim about how the site’s structure was designed.

Verified recognition

07

21st Altın Örümcek Awards, 2023: Best Website of the Year; first place in Events & Culture/Arts, Microsite and Social Responsibility; 3rd place in Most Accessible Website. The accessibility placement is 3rd place, not the category win. Engelsiz Erişim Derneği states that the jury members for the most accessible website and app were selected by the association.

Why this matters for procurement and shortlisting

08

For buyers who must prove inclusion alongside brand quality, this case offers a checkable, third-party record: an accessibility-category placement judged by a jury chosen by an accessibility association, on the same website that won the year’s top website award. It does not certify a WCAG conformance level; buyers who need one should request an audit for their own project.

Solution

Questions

Can MadeByCat design and develop accessible cultural and enterprise websites?
Yes. Salon İKSV is one checkable example: the website for which the official records name MadeByCat as agency placed 3rd in Most Accessible Website at Altın Örümcek 2023, judged by a jury selected by Engelsiz Erişim Derneği. Çelebi Aviation is a further accessibility case on this site.
Is there independent evidence of accessibility-related recognition?
Yes. Two independent sources record it: the official Altın Örümcek 2023 category page, and the Engelsiz Erişim Derneği announcement of the accessibility results. Both are linked under Evidence & sources.
Did Salon İKSV win the Most Accessible Website category?
No. Salon İKSV placed 3rd in Most Accessible Website. Its first-place results and Best Website of the Year are separate categories.
Can accessibility coexist with premium, award-winning design?
On this project it did: the same website won Best Website of the Year and was placed in the accessibility category in the same year.
Does this recognition certify WCAG conformance?
No. An award placement is not a conformance audit, and this case claims no WCAG level. For a new project we scope accessibility requirements and testing explicitly.
